Lisa Legrande
Lisa is the Founder of The North Texas Youth Ballet. The NTYB was established in 2001 as a pre-professional training company for all area Ballet students from ages 5-18. The NTYB offers performance opportunities in Classical Ballet and Contemporary pieces as well. The NTYB is proud to offer our graduating dancers scholarship opportunities for college and also prepare them for a career in the Performing Arts Industry. Lisa began formal dance training in Ballet at the age of 3. She added Tap and Jazz at the appropriate ages. Her primary training was with Marsha Woody Academy in Beaumont, Texas where she studied for 18 years. She continued her dance training locally with Harkness Ballet Master David Howard and Robert Scevers. She was awarded full scholarships to San Francisco Ballet School under William Christensen, and Southern Methodist University under Nikita Talin just to name a few. She has taught all genres of dance in major dance centers in Dallas, Colorado, Kansas City and Atlanta. Now with 38 years of teaching experience, she continues her love of training and developing dancers of all ages and levels. Lisa has won several Choreography Awards and Excellence in Training Awards, of which she values most.
