Andrea Berkley-Sanchez
Andrea trained as a ballerina in Clear Lake, TX at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Andrea danced a number of years with the Clear Lake Metropolitan Ballet performing in 7 seasons of the Nutcracker in roles from Clara to Sugar Plum Fairy, the title role in Cinderella, Swanhilda in Coppélia, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, and an assortment of fairy, swan and other roles. Andrea trained under a number of ballet masters including the Houston Ballet’s Soili Arvola, Leo Ahonen, and Janie Parker, as well as with John Magnus at the Joffrey Ballet for 3 years. Andrea studied ballet at Texas Christian University (TCU), with Artist in Resident Fernando Bujones, then Artistic Director of the Orlando Ballet. While at TCU she performing numerous solo roles including the title role in The Sleeping Beauty and was awarded the prestigious Nordon Fine Arts Scholarship and was named to the Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 2004. She also holds her Masters in Business from Sam Houston State University.
Andrea danced in Italy with the Pergine Specatlo Aperto, touring Portugal and Spain, and with the Phrenic New Ballet in Philadelphia performing contemporary works.
Married to her art loving husband Mark, who has a dance background of his own, they have three precious children all of whom dance. Andrea started teaching at Boni’s in 2016 and has a passion for sharing her love of ballet.
